We source the thickest cuts of meat and trim them up, just like we do for competition.

Then, our Pitmasters hand-apply our fresh dry rubs before slow-smoking them in a live-wood smoker stoked with genuine hickory logs. To lock in that deep-down smokiness, each tender cut is finished on the grill, creating our famous char-grilled sweetness on the outside. Our tender, juicy ribs and chicken are amazing straight from the grill or topped with one of our award-winning sauces. It's the best darn BBQ you'll taste in SE Michigan!

The Best Never Rest
Barbeque's Living Legend

Famous Dave is the most awarded Pitmaster in history — a true originator blessed with a great sense of taste and a passion to create only the best of the best. Even among BBQ champions, Dave is recognized as the authority on the art of cooking with smoke and flame.

Dave's passion for ribs began as a young boy in Chicago. His father would bring home the best tasting ribs, slow-smoked by street vendors using 55-gallon drums. They were legendary ribs smoked just like the champion Pitmasters did way down in the Deep South. And thus, his story begins.

Labor Day Weekend: The Ultimate BBQ Recipes

Labor Day Weekend BBQ | Famous Dave's BBQ - marek-mucha-tAFWFWrWGyE-unsplashLabor Day Weekend is the perfect excuse to throw a barbecue, so why not go all out this year? With the grill fired up you can cook up some of your favorites and maybe even try out some new dishes too. On the 4th of July, we brought you our round-up of the best BBQ side dish recipes, and now it’s time to check out our ultimate BBQ recipes to enjoy this Labor Day Weekend.

Hamburgers

Hamburgers are a BBQ staple, coming in at the top of America’s favorite BBQ foods. While a classic burger is always a good choice, you can try something a little different using marinades and seasoning to give your burgers some extra flavor this Labor Day.

Honey BBQ Chicken Skewers

Who doesn’t love a chicken skewer on the grill? Honey BBQ makes a great marinade, and is easy to make. You’ll need:

  • Ketchup
  • Honey
  • Brown sugar
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Paprika
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder

Simply marinate your chicken overnight in your homemade marinade and get ready to enjoy some super tasty skewers.

Sticky Pulled Pork

Pulled pork is another BBQ favorite - ideal for pairing with some onion hamburger buns and lashings of ‘slaw. Best done in the slow cooker, you can make a tasty sticky chili pulled pork in advance for a low-effort but extremely tasty Labor Day dish.

Slow-Cooked Brisket

Brisket is up there with one of the best BBQ foods and is worth the effort this Labor Day. You can make an incredible barbecued beef brisket with a little patience and plenty of flavor. The success of your brisket relies on your preparation, so let the meat marinade and make sure you’ve got the perfect temperature to cook wonderfully tender brisket.

Farm-Style Ribs

Would a Labor Day BBQ be complete without some farm-style ribs? Absolutely not! Marinate your ribs with a thick and tasty sauce (the smokier, the better) and start by slow cooking them in the oven for two hours. When you’re ready, you can finish them off on the grill, so the meat falls away for that incredibly tender taste.

Smoked Salmon

A fish option is a top choice for a BBQ and can make things a little healthier too. Marinade with some smoked seasoning for a rich flavor, and get ready to cook your salmon on medium heat, wrapped in foil, for perfect fish that everyone can enjoy.

Buffalo Wings

Wings are a BBQ staple. Most people have a go-to wings recipe for the grill, but if you haven’t tried it before, why not make buffalo wings for your Labor Day BBQ? Use lashings of hot sauce to give your wings a kick, and don’t forget some blue cheese sauce or dip to add even more flavor to this tasty dish.

Regardless of what you choose to cook this Labor Day weekend, be sure to enjoy your time relaxing, laughing with friends and family, and cooking delicious foods.
